IS THERE A VETRO ARTISTICO® MURANO BRAND?
Yes, the brand exists and it is a collective one established by law. The brand certifies that the products are manufactured only within the island of Murano and using the traditional Murano techniques.
WHY WAS A BRAND CREATED?
Like many brands, this one serves to certify and protect one of the most prestigious Made In Italy products in the world, so as to guarantee, to the consumer, the authenticity of a handmade product of a millenary, artistic tradition, born and developed within the island of Murano.
WHEN WAS THE BRAND ESTABLISHED?
Vetro Artistico® Murano was born thanks to an initiative by Regione del Veneto with regulation n.70 of December 23rd 1994. From December 2001 the exclusive administration of this was entrusted to Consorzio Promovetro.
WHAT AM I GUARANTEED?
I am guaranteed that I have purchased a product handmade in Murano according to the traditional Murano glass working techniques
WHO AM I GUARANTEED BY?
I am guaranteed by Regione Del Veneto, exclusive licensee of the Vetro Artistico® Murano brand.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The suppliers apply Brand label, which is in the form of a small sticker, to the products to certify their origin.
WHAT DOES THE LABEL LOOK LIKE?
The label includes the logo of the Vetro Artistico® Murano brand and can be red or blue depending on the type of techniques used. At the top you will find the producer’s identity code.
WHERE IS THE LABEL APPLIED?
The sticker is applied to a glass portion of the object itself.
WHO CAN USE THIS LABEL?
Only companies that produce glass artefacts on Murano can apply: if authorized, they become vendors of the Vetro Artistico® Murano Brand. Consequently whoever sells the products must guarantee the authenticity of each object they apply the label to.
ARE ALL THE PRODUCTS IN THE BOTTEGA DEI CRISTALLI GUARANTEED WITH THE AUTHENTICITY LABEL?
The authenticity label is an expense to the producers so, as a result, the objects valued at 50 Euro or more will display the sticker, the others, like the glass jewellery and the small accessories may not have one.
